Trivial Escape: Solve. Escape. Themed to You.
Trivial Escape is a casual co-op escape room game for game night. Every player picks what they're into, and the game builds a room around it. Crack puzzles, answer trivia, and get out together.
The Problem
Every escape room game hands every group the same rooms. And game night usually fails on logistics, not interest: co-op escape games assume everyone is at a desk, focused, and on voice for an hour, with puzzles pitched at a single difficulty level.
Our Solution
Trivial Escape generates one room per player, themed to that player's interests. Four friends who like retro gaming, pop music, history, and the 80s get a four-room run where each room looks, sounds, and reads as made for them. Everyone plays each room the same way. The theme is a gift, not a mechanical advantage.
Key Features
- Rooms Themed to Each Player: A session builds a room around each player's interests, so "wait, this one's yours" becomes part of the fun
- Play at Any Attention Level: A shared handler view (map, prop manuals, pings) lets someone on a train or on the couch contribute in taps instead of sentences
- Text-First, Voice-Optional: Every exchange has a non-verbal channel. Ping, push a clue card, mark a symbol, or type
- Mixed-Ability Sessions: Difficulty is set per player, so kids, parents, and puzzle veterans can play the same room together
- Join from Any Device: Plays in the browser, no install required
Technical Stack
- Client: Three.js (WebGPU with WebGL 2 fallback) with a React and Redux Toolkit UI shell
- Multiplayer: Authoritative Colyseus server over WebSockets, with reconnection for players who drop out
- Marketing Site: Astro
